MEDiA builds partnerships in seven countries

The MEDiA Project Team is focused on understanding electoral disinformation in seven African countries. We are not doing this on our own, but working with partners across the continent to exchange best practices and create new knowledge on how to tackle issues connected to information manipulation and interference by domestic and international actors.

In Kenya, the DRC, Senegal, South Africa and Zimbabwe, we are carrying out an in-depth mapping of the organisations involved in fighting electoral disinformation and the coalitions that have been formed to tackle the issue. We are also examining themes and topics connected to electoral disinformation, the actors/networks that have been identified and their strategies/tactics.

In Namibia and Ghana, we are laying the groundwork to monitor electoral disinformation during upcoming general elections.
