Channel Africa: Strengthening Information Integrity in the Global South
CINIA Director Prof Herman Wasserman recently appeared on Channel Africa’s Rise & Shine to discuss a new grant awarded to CINIA by the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
The three-year project, led by Prof Wasserman as Principal Investigator, will convene multidisciplinary partnerships across Africa, the Middle East & North Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Its focus areas include disinformation, media literacy, technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TGBV), and the impact of generative AI.
Prof Wasserman highlighted the importance of the initiative in strengthening information integrity in the Global South, as well as the types of research and outputs the project will deliver.
