The explosion of misinformation and harmful content on Big Tech’s digital platforms threatens democracy and social cohesion.
Most recently, here in South Africa, a reluctant Meta – which owns Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram – was ordered by the High Court to shut down Instagram accounts and WhatsApp channels posting explicit sexual content of schoolchildren.
In this episode we discuss platform security with a person who was directly – and successfully – involved in taking on the all-powerful Big Tech, including threatening to have a senior Meta manager locked up.
